Starting ‘Em Out Young

Just what kids need – training to become social media influencers so they can sell themselves or some useless product or service. This sounds ideal for budding extroverts. Give them some pizza, a microphone, turn on the camera, and action! Become a “Podkid” and unlock your “creative potential, develop life skills and become confident communicators.” Maybe their podcasts will go viral. Maybe they can monetize their channel. That’s what life’s all about, isn’t it? Sounds like just another way to make money at the expense of kids and their clueless parents.

What about achieving the same goals while living more of their young lives offline? Look up, children and parents!

Peace, MAA

  1. There are a lot of interesting, entertaining and educational podcasts out there. I enjoy them a lot. But I seriously dislike this influencer culture that makes people show off fake aspects of their lives on Instagram and TikTok and obsessed with the number of followers they have. I appreciate that there is some potential for building wealth via social media, but I think that quality matters — as in, the quality if the content you put out into the world. Using social platforms to spread discord or to feed one’s narcissistic inner beast isn’t exactly adding “good” to the world. I, for one, am tired of having to sift through all the negativity and the nonsense in order to get to good content.
