Facebook’s “Community Standards”

…complement the MAGA regime’s standards. Exhibit A: I tried to include a link to the ICE List in a Facebook post and got this response. It’s compelling evidence that Dear Leader and his regime have Mark Zuckerberg and other members of the broligarchy by the balls, pardon the salty language. Think of it as a mutually beneficial arrangement. You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours.

What are Facebook’s “community standards”? Here are the “key principles” and examples of “what’s not allowed.”

Key Principles

  • Authenticity: Preventing misrepresentation and fake accounts.
  • Safety: Banning credible threats, violence, self-harm, and dangerous activities.
  • Privacy: Protecting personal information and preventing identity theft.
  • Dignity: Prohibiting harassment, degradation, and hate speech.

What’s Not Allowed (Examples)

  • Hateful Conduct: Attacks on groups based on attributes like race, religion, or sexual orientation.
  • Bullying & Harassment: Shaming, threatening, or intimidating others.
  • Violence & Criminal Behavior: Incitement, promotion, or glorification of real-world harm.
  • Nudity & Sexual Content: Especially sexually suggestive content or exploitation.
  • Spam: Artificial engagement, fake reviews, or repetitive commercial posts.
  • Fake Profiles: Impersonating others or creating misleading accounts.

I guess that adding a link to the ICE List has something to do with keeping ICE goons’ personal information private and preventing “incitement, promotion, or glorification of real-world harm” to the same. Or maybe it’s related to “hateful conduct” or “bullying and harassment.” (Poor ICE, so sad that so many US Americans have them.) The real reason appears to be protection of Dear Leader’s nascent police state and MAGA’s vile “community” of racism, xenophobia, sexism, and the country’s descent into early fifth stage fascism. If Meta applied these “community standards” consistently and across the board, its platforms wouldn’t be the digital cesspool that they are.

My solution in the spirit of “where there’s a will, there’s a way”: Since Facebook’s algorithm isn’t that sophisticated, I simply did an end-run and included a link to a blog post about this accountability project entitled The ICE List – ‘Put ICE on Ice.’ Problem solved with more background information. If it were really good, it would have blocked that, too, on the grounds that “it goes against our Community Standards,” once removed.

Peace, MAA
