On a lighter note, I was inspired to create a song about some wind chimes that were a very special gift from someone who passed in the autumn of 2009. I think of her and her family every time I hear them singing. You are forever in my heart.
Verse 1
Hanging where the daylight lingers,
Silver threads in open air,
You don’t speak in hurried language,
Still, your voice is everywhere.
Every breeze becomes a whisper,
Every hush becomes a hymn,
Soft confessions of the heavens
Drifting on the twilight’s rim.
Pre-Chorus
You never shout, you never break,
You only bend and sing—
A fragile choir of tiny bells
Awakened by unseen wings.
Chorus
Ring, little windchimes, ring for the sky,
Sing what the quiet keeps passing by.
Carry the prayers we don’t dare say,
Float them gently far away.
In every trembling silver tone,
We learn we’re never quite alone—
When the wind remembers,
It calls our hearts back home.
Verse 2
On restless nights you shimmer softly,
Moonlight caught in threads of sound,
Turning empty air to music,
Turning silence sacred ground.
Every note a small reminder
Nothing broken stays that way,
Even scattered pieces glisten
When the wind begins to play.
Pre-Chorus
Invisible hands move through the dark,
Brushing sorrow thin—
And what was heavy on the soul
Feels lighter once again.
Chorus
Ring, little windchimes, ring for the sky,
Sing what the quiet keeps passing by.
Carry the prayers we don’t dare say,
Float them gently far away.
In every trembling silver tone,
We learn we’re never quite alone—
When the wind remembers,
It calls our hearts back home.
Bridge
If storms arrive, don’t fear their cry,
They only teach you how to fly.
Through clash and echo, clash and spin,
There’s hidden harmony within.
Final Chorus
Ring, little windchimes, brave and bright,
Turn every shadow into light.
Let every breath of wandering air
Find hope still hanging there.
In every trembling silver tone,
We learn we’re never quite alone—
When the wind remembers,
It sings us safely home.
