Below is a LinkedIn post by Ryan Ward, who is based in Cambridge, England. It’s a simple explanation for people who “condemn Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement) without ever asking why they exist in the first place.” I know some of these people, otherwise kind, caring, and compassionate individuals who have swallowed this particular hasbara talking point hook, line, and sinker. They’re not hardcore Zionists, but they know little to nothing about the historical context of the situation.
It’s also worth mentioning that Israel supported Hamas as a counterweight to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The deadly games empires play.
People condemn Hamas without ever asking why they exist in the first place.
Hamas is a Palestinian movement that emerged in 1987 during the First Intifada.
It is both political and armed, born out of decades of occupation, apartheid, and despair.
They did not appear from nowhere.
The real architects of terror are not the people resisting occupation.
The real terror has come from Israel’s ethnic cleansing, Britain’s colonial betrayal, and America’s endless wars across the Middle East.
The US killed over a million people in Iraq alone, lied about weapons of mass destruction, and staged false flag narratives to drag its people into war.
All of this was done while funneling billions to Israel, using it as a foothold to colonize and control the region.
Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria… how many lives were stolen under the same lies of “freedom” and “security”?
How many were killed in support of a greater Israel, while Western leaders sold illusions to their own people?
What we are witnessing is not a conflict between equals.
It is empire using occupation & propaganda as a weapon.
When you starve, bomb, and cage entire generations, resistance is not a choice.
It is human nature to protect your family and your land.
If the world wants peace, it must stop pretending the issue begins with Hamas.
The disease is occupation and imperialism, maintained by a Zionist network in positions of power.
Until that ends, the killing will never stop.
