Canary Mission (CM), described as a “hate group” and a “shadowy pro-Israel website” used by the US government to identify pro-Palestine students for deportation and to harass others who are anti-genocide, anti-Zionism, and anti-Israel, added Hani to its database on 6 July 2025. It’s worth noting that the CM site features a lot of anti-Zionist Jews who they would no doubt label “self-hating Jews” and “kapos,” in the spirit and letter of the hasbara playbook.

The charges are predictable: 1) hatred of Israel, 2) support for anti-Israel agitators, 3) the pro-terror and anti-Israel movement after 10/7/2023, and 4) the BDS movement. As with everyone listed in its hall of fame, there are links to his Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts, presumably in the hope that Zios around the world will harass him.

What CM doesn’t like about Hani is that he is in daily contact with friends, family, and colleagues in Gaza and speaks the truth about the Israeli-executed genocide there. He is an intelligent, compassionate, outspoken, and eloquent man who effectively uses images and video to inform his many followers on social media about what is happening on the ground. He’s also frequently interviewed by major media outlets, including ABC, MSNBC, CNN, PBS, etc. In other words, he’s a vocal and highly visible thorn in the side of official Israel. Note: On the other side of the coin is the Reverse Canary Mission, whose slogan is Holding Zionists accountable for their support of Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine.

Hani Almadhoun is one of my heroes on a short and selective list. Thank you for your dedication and good work!
