Cries from the Rubble

But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! -Amos 5:24

This is one version of a song I created about the ongoing Israeli-executed genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

(Verse 1) The sun won’t rise on shattered stone. Smoke fills the air where homes once stood. A mother cries, but she cries alone, while the world looks on like they never could.

(Chorus) Oh, Gaza weeps, but who will hear? The bombs keep falling year by year. How many children must be slain before we break these endless chains?

(Verse 2) They say it’s war, but I see graves, where laughter once would dance and play. A father clutches his son so tight, but love won’t bring him back tonight.

(Chorus) Oh, Gaza weeps, but who will hear? The bombs keep falling year by year. How many children must be slain before we break these endless chains?

(Bridge) Turn away, pretend you don’t see, the shattered towns, the dying trees. But truth will rise from broken ground, And justice comes when voices sound.

(Chorus) Oh, Gaza weeps, but we are near; your cries will echo loud and clear. No wall is strong, no lie will stand, freedom is rising from this land.

(Outro) Someday soon, when peace is won, we’ll sing this song beneath the sun. No more fear, no more pain, Gaza will rise and breathe again.

Here’s another version.

If you have the means, please give generously to reputable organizations that are keeping people in Gaza alive with food and medicine, including:

UNRWA USA and Gaza Soup Kitchen.

Here are some individuals in Gaza with crowdfunding campaigns set up by friends and others in other countries. Yes, there are a lot of scams, people who are happy to profit from the misery and suffering of others, but all of these individuals have been vetted.
