There are few countries in which you’ll find more fawning over the military than in the US. I took the above photo in a Coach store in a shopping mall. To be honest, I’m not sure how many current or retired military personnel shop at Coach, but I understand the sentiment and PR value of offering a 10% discount to those who do. It leaves a warm feeling in the red, white, and blue hearts of those who do.

The first thought that popped into my head was why not offer a discount to people who work/worked on behalf of peace? Yes, I know – a bridge too far. A guy can dream, can’t he?
